The Heart of CIRS
Heartfelt conversations with folks recovering from CIRS & with those special people serving the CIRS community (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome).
The podcast was created to help bring awareness to the real experiences of folks navigating CIRS day to day. The world needs to know what CIRS folks go through for deeper empathy & understanding. Through stories & vulnerability, we can help the world understand the winding journey of CIRS recovery.
The podcast will be hosted by Melanie Joy Pensak from @meditation4cirs.
May the awareness of CIRS spread far and wide, helping to change millions of lives for the better 💙

I am delighted you are here for the launch of the Heart of SIRS podcast. I am Melanie and I am recovering from CIRS chronic inflammatory response syndrome. This podcast was born out of a desire during my own recovery to hear the stories and journeys of others going through the process. So much time is spent learning the complexities of the illness and caring for self. There often is not time to engage in heartfelt conversations with others on the path. I believe stories touch the heart and our emotions in a powerful way, and my hope is with this podcast, you will also feel moved by the sharing of others. I hold a background as a speech and language pathologist, a shoemaker proficiency provider diplomat, a certified mindfulness teacher, and a nature based meditation leader. I value communication, science. and what emotions tell us as we navigate the complexities of human life. The conversations will weave together these ideas, not just for folks recovering from CIRS, but also for the friends and families of those healing and health and wellness professionals. With more awareness of the illness and the daily life experiences of those healing, greater understanding grows. You'll hear from folks in the CIRS trenches, overcomers, and others. and professionals serving the CIRS communities. I look forward to hearing how you experience these conversations. With appreciation for your attention. May the awareness of CIRS spread far and wide, helping to change millions of lives for the better.
